Sketchbooking Camp: Ages 10-13 FULL
Larry Spring Museum of Common Sense Physics
Fort Bragg, CA
July 2022
Limited financial assistance is available for families in need.
What is sketchbooking? Itβs the art of filling a blank book β any way you want to. From experiments with visual art media and scrapbooking to journaling and creative writing, sketchbooking encompasses any kind of creativity that can be made to fit on a page. I learned this process from my own teachers over twenty years ago and have been practicing it consistently since. My own sketchbook travels with me everywhere!
In this camp, each student will get their own blank sketchbook to fill. We will look at other sketchbook artists for inspiration, then begin our own creative experiments. We will also take walkabouts through nature in McLaren Park to practice finding inspiration in the world around us.
This camp will equip students with a personalized creative practice they can carry forward into life. Sketchbooking builds skills in creativity, visual art-making, collaboration, and self-expression, and is a wonderful outlet for emotional and mental health.
